Explanation using Example

Imagine you are filing a lawsuit in the state of Haryana and need to pay court fees as per the Court-Fees Act, 1870. According to Section 26, as amended by Haryana Act 29 of 2016, you can pay this fee using a stamp that is either adhesive (like a sticker) or impressed (stamped directly onto the document), or a combination of both. This stamp serves as proof of payment.

For example, you decide to use the e-stamping method. You go to an authorized service provider and pay the required court fee. In return, you receive an e-stamp which has a unique identification number. This e-stamp is then affixed to or associated with your legal document, thus fulfilling the requirement of Section 26 for the payment of court fees in Haryana.
