Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi files a criminal complaint against Suresh for cheating. The court where Ravi initially files the complaint realizes that it does not have the jurisdiction to hear the case. Ravi then files the same complaint in the correct court. The time Ravi spent pursuing the case in the wrong court will be excluded from the limitation period for filing the complaint in the correct court, provided Ravi acted in good faith and with due diligence.
