Scenario: Rajesh is accused of theft and a police report has been filed against him.
Application of Section 207: Rajesh is brought before the Magistrate. According to Section 207 of The Code Of Criminal Procedure 1973, the Magistrate must provide Rajesh with the following documents without delay and free of cost:
- A copy of the police report detailing the theft accusation.
- A copy of the First Information Report (FIR) that was recorded under Section 154.
- Copies of statements recorded under Section 161(3) of all persons whom the prosecution plans to call as witnesses, except any parts that the police have requested to exclude under Section 173(6).
