Example 1:

Scenario: A notorious criminal, Rajesh, who has been convicted of multiple thefts, escapes from prison. The police are unable to locate him despite extensive searches.

Application of Section 73: The Chief Judicial Magistrate issues a warrant for Rajesh's arrest and directs it to the manager of a large estate where Rajesh is suspected to be hiding. The manager, upon receiving the warrant, acknowledges it in writing and keeps an eye on the estate. A few days later, Rajesh is spotted on the estate. The manager, following the warrant's instructions, apprehends Rajesh and hands him over to the nearest police officer. The police officer then takes Rajesh before the Magistrate who issued the warrant.

Example 2:

Scenario: Sunil, accused of a non-bailable offense of fraud, has been evading arrest for several months. The police have received information that Sunil is hiding in a remote village.

Application of Section 73: A Magistrate of the first class issues a warrant for Sunil's arrest and directs it to the village headman. The headman acknowledges the receipt of the warrant in writing. When Sunil is seen entering the village, the headman, as per the warrant's directive, apprehends Sunil. The headman then hands Sunil over to the nearest police officer, who ensures that Sunil is taken before the Magistrate who has jurisdiction over the fraud case.

Example 3:
