Explanation using Example

Imagine a scenario where a trial has concluded in a district court in the state of West Bengal, where the proceedings were conducted in Bengali, the local language. The accused, who is from a different state and speaks Hindi, does not understand Bengali. As per Section 364 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, the original judgment, which is written in Bengali, will be filed with the records of the proceedings. Additionally, if the accused requests, a translated copy of the judgment in Hindi, which is the language of the court in this case, will also be added to the record so that the accused can fully understand the outcome of the trial.
