Example Scenario:

John is convicted of robbery by a Sessions Judge and is sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. Unhappy with the judgment, John decides to appeal against his conviction. As per Section 374(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, John has the right to appeal to the High Court since he was convicted by a Sessions Judge and the sentence imposed is more than seven years of imprisonment.
