Explanation using Example

Imagine a situation where the police suspect that stolen property is hidden inside a person's home. To recover the property, they need a search warrant. The magistrate issues a search warrant under section 94 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. Now, according to section 99, when the police execute this search warrant, they must follow the same procedures as outlined in sections 38 (execution of warrants), 70 (form of warrant of arrest), 72 (warrants to whom directed), 74 (when warrant may be executed), 77 (where warrant directed to police officer), 78 (warrant forwarded for execution outside jurisdiction), and 79 (warrant directed to any person other than a police officer for endorsement). This ensures that the search is conducted lawfully and the rights of the person being searched are respected.
