Explanation using Example
Imagine a state in India where a new industrial area has been developed. The State Government, recognizing the need for effective law and order management in this rapidly growing area, instructs the District Magistrate to define the local limits of this new area. The District Magistrate, using the powers granted by Section 22 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, delineates the boundaries within which an Executive Magistrate will have jurisdiction. This Executive Magistrate is now responsible for handling any criminal matters that arise within this defined area, unless specified otherwise. For all other areas of the district not specifically defined, the Magistrate's jurisdiction remains as extensive as the entire district.
