Explanation using Example
Imagine a scenario where three siblings - A, B, and C - are co-plaintiffs in a property dispute case against a relative. Due to work commitments, sibling B is unable to attend the court proceedings regularly. Under Rule 12 of The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, sibling B can provide a written authorization allowing sibling A or C to appear, plead, or act on their behalf in the court. This authorization must be signed by B and filed with the court to be valid. This way, the case can proceed without B's physical presence at every hearing, as A or C can represent B's interests as per the authorization.
