Explanation using Example

Imagine a scenario where Mr. Sharma had a civil dispute with his neighbor over the boundary of their properties. The local court passed a decree stating that the disputed land belonged to the neighbor. Mr. Sharma believed the judgment was incorrect due to an oversight in considering the evidence he provided.

Since the decree is appealable but Mr. Sharma did not immediately appeal due to financial constraints, he can apply for a review of the judgment under Section 114(a) of The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, requesting the same court to reassess the evidence and potentially alter the decree.
