Explanation using Example

Imagine a situation where a business, "XYZ Electronics", needs to ship a consignment of high-end electronics to a retailer. The common carrier, "SafeTransit", assesses that the consignment carries a higher risk due to the value and fragility of the goods. According to Section 11 of The Carriage by Road Act, 2007, SafeTransit can charge XYZ Electronics a higher rate for transporting this sensitive cargo. However, to do so legally, SafeTransit must have a notice displayed in both English and the local language at their business premises, clearly stating the higher charges for such high-risk consignments. If XYZ Electronics agrees to this higher rate and the terms associated with it, SafeTransit's liability will be as per the agreed terms.
