Example 1:

Rajesh is convicted of a heinous crime and sentenced to death by the High Court of Delhi. Rajesh decides to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of India. According to Section 455 of The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the High Court orders the execution of Rajesh's death sentence to be postponed. This postponement will last until the period allowed for filing the appeal has expired. If Rajesh files the appeal within this period, the execution will be further postponed until the Supreme Court disposes of the appeal.
