Imagine a scenario where the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) decides to establish a new faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. To do this, they need to create the framework for the faculty's operation within the university's system. This is where Section 17 of The Banaras Hindu University Act, 1915 comes into play.

Under Section 17(g), the university's Executive Council would draft a statute outlining the structure of the new faculty, its departments, and how it will integrate with existing faculties. This statute would detail the powers and duties of the faculty's authorities, in line with Section 17(a).
