Explanation using Example
Imagine a scenario where a new Vice President of India has been elected. Before officially taking charge of the duties as Vice President, the individual must participate in an oath-taking ceremony. In this ceremony, which is often a formal and significant event, the elected Vice President stands before the current President of India, or another designated official, to take the oath of office.
In a grand room filled with dignitaries, the President asks the Vice President-elect to raise their right hand and repeat the oath:
Oath
"I, [Vice President-elect's name], do swear in the name of God that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, and that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter."
Upon completing the oath, the Vice President-elect is officially sworn in and assumes the responsibilities of the office, ready to serve the nation in accordance with the Constitution of India.
