Imagine the President of India is scheduled to visit a foreign country for diplomatic talks. Two days before the departure, the President falls severely ill and is unable to perform the official duties. In this situation, as per Article 65 of the Constitution of India, the Vice President steps in and takes over the President's responsibilities. The Vice President would then either represent India in the diplomatic talks abroad or ensure the necessary functions of the President's office are maintained domestically. During this period, the Vice President is granted the same powers, immunities, and entitlements as the President until the President recovers and resumes duty.
