Example Scenario:
Suppose there is an individual named Rohan who is interested in running for the position of President of India. Rohan is a 36-year-old citizen of India and has a keen interest in politics. He has also served as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, which makes him qualified to be elected as a member of the Lok Sabha.
However, Rohan is currently serving as the chairman of a government-owned corporation, which is considered an office of profit. According to Article 58 of the Constitution of India, Rohan would not be eligible to run for President unless he resigns from his position in the corporation, as it falls under the government of India.
After learning about this requirement, Rohan decides to resign from his chairmanship to meet the eligibility criteria for the presidential election. Now, as a citizen of India, over the age of thirty-five, and qualified for election as a member of the Lok Sabha, and not holding any office of profit under the government, Rohan is eligible to be a candidate for the President of India.
