The Warehousing Corporations  Act, 1962

The Warehousing Corporations Act, 1962 was enacted to provide for the establishment of Warehousing Corporations for the purpose of promoting the development of warehousing facilities and to facilitate the orderly growth of the warehousing business. The Act lays down provisions for the registration, management, and control of Warehousing Corporations, and also defines their powers and functions. It also outlines the rights and duties of the Warehousing Corporations and their employees. The Act provides for the regulation of the warehousing business and promotes the efficient and economic storage and handling of agricultural produce, seeds, manure, fertilizers, notified commodities, and other notified goods. It also provides for the establishment of State Warehousing Corporations and their powers and functions.
