The State of Nagaland Act, 1962

The State of Nagaland Act, 1962 was enacted to provide for the formation of the state of Nagaland and its administration. The Act defines the territorial jurisdiction of the state and provides for the establishment of a legislative assembly and council of ministers. It also outlines the powers and functions of the governor, chief minister, and other state officials. The Act provides for the application of laws and regulations in the new state and the transfer of assets and liabilities from the former state of Assam. Additionally, the Act provides for the creation of a separate High Court for the state of Nagaland.
