Summary

The Repealing and Amending Act, 2019 was enacted by the Indian Parliament to repeal 58 obsolete and redundant laws and to make minor amendments to several other laws in order to remove inconsistencies and address practical difficulties. Some of the laws repealed by this Act include the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973, and the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The amendments made by this Act include changes to the Companies Act, 2013, the Income Tax Act, 1961, and the Customs Act, 1962.
