The Pondicherry (Extension of Laws) Act, 1968

The Pondicherry (Extension of Laws) Act, 1968 is an Act of the Indian Parliament that extends the application of certain central laws to the Union Territory of Puducherry (formerly known as Pondicherry). The Act amends the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963, and empowers the Central Government to extend any law in force in any other part of India to Puducherry, with such restrictions and modifications as it deems necessary. This Act was enacted to ensure that the laws made by the Indian Parliament are applicable to the Union Territory of Puducherry, just like any other part of India.
