The Oudh Estates Act, 1869
Bare Act
Every Grantee shall possess the same rights and be subject to the same conditions in respect of the estate comprised in his grant as a Taluqdár possesses and is subject to, under section three, in respect of his estate.
Simplified Act
Everyone who receives a grant (Grantee) will have the same rights and responsibilities for their estate as a landowner (Taluqdár) has for theirs, according to the rules in section three of this Act.
Explanation using examples
Imagine a person named Aman received a land grant from the government under the provisions of The Oudh Estates Act, 1869. According to Section 5 of this Act, Aman would have the same rights and obligations concerning his newly granted estate as a Taluqdár (a type of feudal lord) would have under Section 3 of the same Act. This means that if a Taluqdár is required to pay certain taxes or maintain the land in a specific way, Aman would also be required to do the same for his grant. Conversely, if a Taluqdár has the right to collect rents or produce from the land, Aman would have those same rights with respect to his granted estate.
