The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences, Bangalore Act, 2012

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences, Bangalore Act, 2012 was established to provide for the development of human resources in the field of mental health and neurosciences. The Act outlines the objectives of the Institute, its composition, powers and functions, and the manner of appointment and removal of its Director. It also provides for the establishment of an autonomous body to be known as the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences Society to manage the affairs of the Institute. The Act further defines the role and responsibilities of the Society and the Director of the Institute.
