Imagine John owns a car. His friend, Mike, who is 16 years old, asks to drive the car. Since Mike is under the age of 18, he does not meet the requirements of section 3 of The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, which specifies the age limit for obtaining a driving license. By section 5 of the Act, John must not allow Mike to drive his car. If he does, John would be violating the law by permitting someone who does not satisfy the legal provisions to drive the vehicle.
