The Manipur (Courts) Act, 1955

The Manipur (Courts) Act, 1955 was enacted to provide for the establishment of civil and criminal courts in the state of Manipur, to determine their jurisdiction, and to prescribe the procedure to be followed by these courts. The act also outlines the powers of these courts and their judges, and establishes the office of the District Judge. The act has been amended several times over the years, with the latest amendment being made in 2005.
