The Lok Sahayak Sena Act, 1956

The Lok Sahayak Sena Act, 1956 was enacted to provide for the constitution of a force called the Lok Sahayak Sena, which was responsible for the maintenance of essential services and public order. The Act establishes the powers, duties, and functions of the Lok Sahayak Sena, which is composed of volunteers. These volunteers are to be drawn from among the residents of the area in which the force is to be constituted. The Act also provides for the appointment of Commandants and other officers to manage and oversee the activities of the Lok Sahayak Sena.
