The Leaders and Chief Whips of Recognised Parties and Groups in Parliament (Facilities) Act, 1998

The Leaders and Chief Whips of Recognised Parties and Groups in Parliament (Facilities) Act, 1998 was enacted to provide certain facilities to the Leaders and Chief Whips of Recognised Parties and Groups in Parliament. The Act defines the terms 'Leader' and 'Chief Whip' and specifies the facilities to be provided to them, including rent-free accommodation, payment of certain utility bills, and the use of free telephone and postal services. The Act also establishes a Committee to oversee the implementation of the Act, consisting of the Speaker of the House of the People, the Chairman of the Council of States, and the Leader and Chief Whip of each recognised party or group in Parliament.
