The Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act, 1956

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act, 1956 was enacted to promote and develop Khadi and other village industries in rural areas and to provide for the establishment of a Khadi and Village Industries Commission. The Act sets up the Commission to plan, promote, and organize programs for the development of Khadi and other village industries in rural areas, as well as to encourage and assist in the creation and expansion of markets for Khadi and village industries products. The Commission is also responsible for promoting research, providing training, and implementing schemes for the development of Khadi and village industries.
