Let's consider a hypothetical scenario. John Doe runs a digital signature certification business with a license granted under The Information Technology Act, 2000. The license is due to expire on December 31, 2022. In accordance with Section 23 of the Act, John must apply for a renewal of his license. He must do this no later than November 16, 2022 (45 days before expiry). John must fill out the renewal application in the prescribed form and pay a renewal fee, which will not exceed five thousand rupees, as set by the Central Government.
