Explanation using Example
Imagine a scenario where a factory manager in a manufacturing plant has been consistently threatening workers with dismissal if they join or form a union. This act of intimidation is considered an unfair labor practice under the laws governing industrial disputes.
If one of the workers files a complaint with the appropriate authorities and the manager is found guilty of this unfair labor practice, under Section 25U of The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, the manager could face a penalty. Specifically, the manager could be sentenced to imprisonment for up to six months, fined up to one thousand rupees, or both, depending on the severity of the offense and the decision of the court.
