Example 1:
Ravi, a notorious criminal, plans to murder his business rival, Suresh. One night, Ravi breaks into Suresh's house with a knife, intending to kill him while he sleeps. However, Suresh wakes up and manages to escape, calling the police. Ravi is caught and charged under Section 449 of the Indian Penal Code for house-trespass with the intent to commit an offence punishable with death (murder).
Example 2:
Sunita, who has a long-standing feud with her neighbor, Priya, decides to take revenge. She knows that Priya will be alone at home one evening. Sunita breaks into Priya's house with a gun, planning to shoot her. Priya hears the noise and hides in a closet, calling the police. The police arrive in time and arrest Sunita.
