Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi, a college student, is constantly bullied by his classmates. One day, his classmates, led by Arjun, lock him in a room and tell him that he should kill himself because he is worthless. Ravi, unable to bear the harassment, commits suicide. In this case, Arjun and the other classmates who encouraged Ravi to take his own life can be charged under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code for abetment of suicide.

Example 2:

Meena is in a troubled marriage with her husband, Rajesh. Rajesh frequently abuses Meena both physically and mentally. One day, Rajesh tells Meena that she should end her life because she is a burden to him. Feeling hopeless and dejected, Meena consumes poison and dies. Rajesh can be held liable under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code for abetting Meena's suicide.

Example 3:

Suresh, a businessman, is facing severe financial difficulties. His business partner, Vinod, repeatedly tells him that he is a failure and that the only way out of his problems is to commit suicide. Vinod even provides Suresh with sleeping pills and suggests that he take them to end his life. Suresh, feeling cornered, takes the pills and dies. Vinod can be prosecuted under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code for abetment of suicide.

Example 4:

A group of friends, including Priya, often tease their friend Anjali about her personal life and relationships. One day, they go too far and tell Anjali that she should just end her life because no one cares about her. Anjali, deeply affected by their words, jumps off a building and dies. Priya and the other friends who made such statements can be charged under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code for abetment of suicide.
