Example 1:
Ravi, a construction worker, was operating a crane at a construction site in Mumbai. Despite being aware of the safety protocols, he negligently swung the crane's arm without checking if the area was clear. As a result, the crane's arm hit another worker, Suresh, causing him serious injuries. Ravi's negligent act endangered Suresh's life and personal safety. Under Section 337 of the Indian Penal Code, Ravi could be punished with imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to five hundred rupees, or both.
Example 2:
Priya, a resident of Delhi, was driving her car at high speed through a crowded market area. She was talking on her mobile phone and not paying attention to the road. Due to her rash driving, she lost control of the car and hit a pedestrian, Anil, who was crossing the road. Anil suffered multiple fractures and had to be hospitalized. Priya's rash act endangered Anil's life and personal safety. Under Section 337 of the Indian Penal Code, Priya could face imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to five hundred rupees, or both.
