Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi and Suresh are colleagues at an office in Mumbai. Ravi, out of jealousy, decides to humiliate Suresh in front of their coworkers. During a meeting, Ravi intentionally pushes Suresh, causing him to fall and spill coffee on himself. This act was done without any grave provocation from Suresh. Ravi's intention was to dishonour Suresh in front of their peers. Under Section 355 of the Indian Penal Code, Ravi can be charged with assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour Suresh.

Example 2:

Priya and Anjali are neighbors in a residential complex in Delhi. Priya has a personal grudge against Anjali and wants to embarrass her. One day, while Anjali is walking in the common area, Priya throws a bucket of dirty water on her. Anjali did not provoke Priya in any significant way. Priya's action was solely to dishonour Anjali in front of other residents. According to Section 355 of the Indian Penal Code, Priya can be prosecuted for using criminal force with the intent to dishonour Anjali.
