Explanation using Example
Example 1:
Ravi and Suresh are neighbors in a residential colony in Mumbai. One day, Ravi and Suresh have a minor argument over parking space. In a fit of anger, Ravi pushes Suresh, causing him to fall and sustain minor injuries. Suresh did not provoke Ravi in any grave or sudden manner. Under Section 352 of the Indian Penal Code, Ravi can be charged with assault or use of criminal force. If found guilty, Ravi could face imprisonment for up to three months, a fine of up to five hundred rupees, or both.
Example 2:
Priya is walking in a crowded market in Delhi when she accidentally bumps into Anil. Anil, feeling irritated, slaps Priya without any grave or sudden provocation from her side. Priya decides to file a complaint against Anil. Under Section 352 of the Indian Penal Code, Anil can be charged with assault or use of criminal force. If convicted, Anil could be sentenced to imprisonment for up to three months, a fine of up to five hundred rupees, or both.

During a heated cricket match in a local playground in Bangalore, Rajesh and Vikram get into a verbal spat. Rajesh, in a moment of anger, throws a water bottle at Vikram, hitting him on the shoulder.
