Example 1:

Rahul, an Indian citizen, travels to Thailand for a vacation. While in Thailand, he gets into a physical altercation and assaults another Indian citizen, causing serious injury. Upon returning to India, the injured party files a complaint against Rahul. Under Section 3 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, Rahul can be tried in an Indian court for the assault he committed in Thailand, as if the crime had occurred within India.

Example 2:

Priya, an Indian software engineer working in the United States, hacks into an Indian company's server and steals sensitive data. The Indian company discovers the breach and reports it to the authorities in India. Despite the crime being committed in the United States, Priya can be prosecuted in India under Section 3 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, as the act is considered as if it had been committed within India.
