Explanation using Example

Imagine that Raj, out of natural love and affection, decides to transfer a piece of ancestral land to his daughter, Priya, as a gift. They have a close relationship, and Raj wants to provide for her future. To make this agreement legally binding under Section 25 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, Raj puts the agreement in writing and registers it with the appropriate government authority. This act of registration and the relationship between Raj and Priya make this agreement a valid contract, even though Priya has not provided any consideration (payment or service) in return for the land.
