The Geneva Conventions Act, 1960

The Geneva Conventions Act, 1960 is an Indian law that incorporates the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and the Hague Conventions relating to international humanitarian law. The Act provides for punishment for violations of the Conventions and the Protocols, and also defines the jurisdiction of Indian courts in relation to such violations. The Act also specifies the circumstances under which members of the armed forces may be granted immunity from prosecution for acts committed in the course of their duties.
